4th-Soil Parenting is a reference to the fourth (growth-producing) soil in Jesus’ Parable of the Soils. Using a framework that introduces the “3 C’s” of a 4th-Soil environment (Calling, Connecting, Committing), we’ve planted home-based, church-supported experiments, in partnership with 20 participating churches and their chosen leadership teams. These experiments are yielding breakthroughs in what has been a significant challenge for the church over the decades—maximizing the latent influence of parents in their kids’ faith development and maturity, and helping churches to pivot to a home-centered, church-supported culture and ministry strategy.

Each one-minute audio experience immerses parents in the core takeaway of a parable Jesus told, and offers them practical, creative ways to live out that truth in their parenting relationship with their kids. While Parable Partners are intended for parents to listen to, then follow through on the creative parenting ideas in simple ways, some parents may enjoy listening to them together with their kids. Though these sessions are designed for small gatherings, they can also be used for larger-scale gatherings such as retreats, seminars, and congregational events.
