The ‘Maintenance Check’ Light

All our relationships have one thing in common—broken people are involved, so broken things happen. That means reconciliation is a baked-in need, embedded in all aspects of our everyday life. When things go wrong we go into crisis management—the same way we respond when we’re driving on the highway and our “check engine” light goes on. But what about that less-urgent “maintenance check” light? You know, the one that’s been on for a month or so now? If we pay better attention to maintenance in our personal and ministry relationships, maybe we can avoid the “check engine” light.
