Experience How It Works

$24.99

As Jesus emerges from His Jordan-River baptism, the disciples hear God’s voice boom: “This is my dearly loved Son, who brings me great joy. Listen to him.” It’s easy to jump over those last three words, but we have a sacred invitation to pay better attention to Jesus…

Listening to Jesus Together is a set of six carefully crafted “listening encounters” designed for three people to experience together. The goal is to give people in your congregation a weekly “reminder habit” to help them listen to Jesus in the context of a short-term small-community experience…

In Listening to Jesus Together, trios meet online or in-person for six 30-minute sessions.

  • Each trio will have a designated leader, the Host, who follows the session outline each time they’re together.
  • It’s powerful for community-building if the trios are made up of people who don’t know each other well, but these can be put them together in any way you want.
  • This idea also works well for specific groupings—parents of young children, parents of teenagers, single adults, seniors, college-age, teenagers, and so on…
  • The best way to put together these trios is to specifically invite participants—each Host plays “matchmaker” by inviting two other people to participate in a specific trio for six weeks.
  • The starting place is to invite leaders who are open to guiding a trio as the Host, then have them invite two people to join them in a trio.
  • Each session guide gives the Host everything he/she needs to lead the 30-minute experience—it’s easy!
  • This is a digital-download resource, and that means you can purchase it and then send it to whoever you want, as many times as you want.
