Learning to Love what God Loves

I wonder if we are ever ready to love what God loves?

What God loves always calls us, deeper and deeper, into discovering what we truly love. Put another way, our loves are more fully revealed as our GREAT LOVE is more fully embraced…

“Get to know Jesus well, because the more you know him, the more you’ll love him, and the more you love him, the more you’ll want to follow him, and the more you follow him, the more you’ll become like him, and the more you become like him, the more you become yourself.”

In essence, learning to love what God loves, and pouring our lives into what God loves, is the whole of Christian life. Our callings are the specific places where, as the poet Wendell Berry says, we make ourselves “a way for love to reach the ground.”

Take a moment today to reflect on what you love in life—consider how those loves have been surfaced and accentuated as you have come to embrace God’s own boundless love.
