6. CHANGE

Now the LORD said to Abram, “Go from your country and your kindred and your father’s house to the land that I will show you. I will make of you a great nation, and I will bless you, and make your name great, so that you will be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and the one who curses you I will curse; and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.”

Genesis 12:1-3

Finding Calling Through Change

God of great promises,
across time and space, you never stop assuring your people
that you are here,
right here,
in our midst.
In moments of restlessness and loss,
in moments of joy and triumph,
in the twists and turns of each new day,
you dwell with us.
We are never left to face
our next steps alone.
As you did in this story—and as you did for our father Abraham,
you call each of us into
a deeper relationship with you
and our neighbors.
These relationships are
cloaked in mystery.
We do not often know
what changes lay ahead.
But through your abundant faithfulness,
we can be assured
that you will
guide and bless each step.
In gratitude, we pray, Amen.
